Frequently Asked Questions

There are two main ways that we are compensated at our firm. The first is through Asset Management fees if we manage any investments for you. This fee is only paid on Assets managed by us through our Custodian TD Ameritrade Institutional and does not apply to employer 401ks or stock plans. We charge a percentage of assets being managed. When the balance of your account increases, we get a pay raise. When the balance of your account goes down, we get a pay cut.

The other fee we charge is a financial planning fee. Most clients renew their financial plan annually, but others pay the planning fee every other year or every 3 years. Each of our client’s financial plan is unique including how often to update the plan. The typical cost of a financial plan at other firms is $2,000-$5,000 but our firm’s average financial planning fee is less than $1,000.
